The holidays are almost here, leaving many of us in a quandary as to
what to buy for that special someone. We want to make it the
"perfect gift."
The all-new 40-page Harley-Davidson Christmas catalog has a host
of wonderful gifts that will fit any holiday budget. You may find
something you think is really cool but you need to buy something for
your Harley riding friend, partner, wife or husband. Is there a way
to be assured that the gift will be appropriate? We think we've got
the answer.
The solution is fast and requires no special gift-wrapping. That
solution: a GIFT CARD. Over the years gift cards have become more
and more popular. After all, it's the thought that counts, and the
receiver will really appreciate your thoughtfulness. They won't have
to suffer the embarrassment of exchanging or returning the gift and
then confessing when you discover the truth. NO, the gift card may
not be THE perfect gift but we think we've come up with an idea that
may help.
It's never to late to get one. It's never on back-order and can
come in any value.
Stop in soon, visit us online, or or call us to see our current
specials.
Don't delay. Come in today. You'll be able to get your shopping
done in minutes and can carry the present away with no need to wrap
it. We'll even supply the envelope.

When it's past the riding season in most of the country north of the
Mason-Dixon line, the season still continues south of the line, in
the Sunbelt. However, there are some hints you might want to know to
make the ride both safer and more enjoyable.
Riding in the southwest is fun -- Southern California, Arizona
and New Mexico are great winter venues. Those of you from northern
climates or southeastern states should know that the air is very dry
in these states. Humidity levels of 10% are not uncommon.
Dehydration is a real concern. Here's what you should do to prepare
your bike and yourself.
First, take plenty of water with you. Riding in dry climates can
be hazardous when combined with winds generated by cruising at 65+
MPH on the open, sun-drenched roads. Next, the distance between rest
areas or gas stations is often more than 100 miles, so make sure you
top off the gas tank as often as possible. Nothing is worse than
running out of gas on a little-traveled road in the hot desert.
It doesn't take long for you to become very dehydrated. You
don't notice it because the perspiration evaporates so quickly that
your clothes don't get wet. Dehydration is deadly. Drink as much
water as you can hold and drink some at least every 50 miles.
The temperatures in southern California, Arizona and New Mexico
can climb to the upper 80s even in December and January. If you're
not used to the dry heat, we suggest you ride with a wet T-shirt.
The cooling effect of hot dry air rushing over a wet T-shirt is the
equivalent of the famous Southwestern air conditioners commonly
called "swamp coolers." They work based on the evaporative cooling
effect.
Oh yeah, and don't forget to take along some suntan lotion.
Apply it liberally to the back of your hands, your wrists, your neck
and especially your nose. Buy the lotion with the highest SPF rating
you can find. Unless you're wearing something over the leathers, it
would be a good idea to slather your chest, arms and back with the
lotion, too. Especially at the higher elevations, the UV rays can
penetrate a T-shirt and give you really painful sunburn.
One final note: If you don't have a good pair of UV-inhibiting
sun glasses, stop by the shop. We have some great ones that will
protect your eyes and look cool, too.
