Western Reserve Harley-Davidson
Rolls Out New Models with National Open House
Saturday, October 11 - 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. - 8567 Tyler Blvd., Mentor
Western Reserve Harley-Davidson, located at 8567 Tyler Blvd., in
Mentor, will unveil the new 2004 models at its National Open House on
Saturday, October 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Key new models include a
completely redesigned XL Sportster family and a new VRSCB V-Rod power
cruiser, which complements the VRSCA V-Rod. There are several new
highlights to Harley-Davidson's 2004 lineup as well. According to
Miki Dudevszky, General Manager, "We welcome everyone to 'roar out'
and see the new bikes we will have on display at the dealership. The
new models demonstrate Harley-Davidson's continued commitment to
styling, product innovation and the riding experience."
The XL Sportster Family is all new with a redesigned,
rubber-mounted Sportster XL Evolution powertrain, a stiffer frame,
and lower seat height. Four models acknowledge 47 years of Sportster
heritage, while delivering a new level of comfort and performance.
The new VRSCB V-Rod offers a tough, new blacked-out styling
interpretation of the award-winning, liquid-cooled VRSCA V-Rod power
cruiser.
In addition, Harley-Davidson's New Road King Custom and restyled
Road Glide bring new style to the Harley-Davidson Touring line. The
Dyna Glide models will now be available with Electronic Fuel
Injection (EFI). New-look fuel tanks and consoles update the styling
of the Dyna Glide line. The Springer Softail gets a fresh look with
several feature enhancements, including a new Badlander seat and new
low-rise handlebar. Finally, Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO) adds a
new motorcycle to its roster: the Screamin' Eagle Electra Glide, and
offers the Screamin' Eagle Deuce in two brand new custom colors in
its second year.
Western Reserve Harley-Davidson's service technicians are
prepared to service the new models. "All of our service technicians
are trained through Harley-Davidson University, where they gain
experience and training in all the latest changes in the industry,"
Dudevszky said. "Together, our technicians have logged hundreds of
hours of training, and are up-to-date on the newest models that
Harley-Davidson is releasing."
For 2004, Harley-Davidson is offering 17 different color schemes,
and three custom pain programs, including solid colors and two-tones.
All 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycles will also come with a two-year,
unlimited mile warranty. In addition, most service intervals have
been extended from 2,500 to 5,000 miles.
Western Reserve Harley-Davidson is located at 8567 Tyler Blvd.,
Mentor. The 30,000 square foot dealership, which completed a major
renovation and expansion in 2002, is home to two different showrooms
- one for Harley and one for Honda. Included in these showrooms are
different style motorcycles, parts and accessories, clothing, and
other merchandise. Western Reserve Harley-Davidson also provides
complete service for Harley-Davidson and Honda motorcycles. For more

It's official. Harley-Davidson has celebrated its 100th anniversary.
The almost yearlong celebration came to an end with the biggest
motorcycle party in history. The usually quiet town of Milwaukee,
Wisconsin, saw their population increase by about 300,000 partygoers,
all of them on their Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The roar could be
heard from the suburbs to the lakefront.
The only negative we heard was that not many of the partygoers
were Elton John fans. Although all the other events were played
before wall-to-wall bikers, when Elton came on stage to play and
sing, about half the bikers left. I guess his music wasn't what they
wanted to hear. Maybe it wasn't loud enough?
Now, it's clean-up time. The city will go about its business of
picking up after such a huge party. The hotels, motels, restaurants,
and other stores will count their receipts and smile all the way to
the bank. Milwaukee will count its collected sales taxes and then
get ready for still another long, gray winter. There will be
sub-zero temperatures, bone-chilling winds from Lake Michigan, and
snow that turns gritty after a few days.
Now we start year one of the second century, and it's going to be
even better. The all-new Sportster has been completely revamped.
This year (2004) will boast more color combinations than any time in
Harley's history.
We are going to have more local rides and events than we did last
year. And we won't even wait until 2004. We're going to start this
fall ...now. This is the best time of the year to ride. The kids
are back in school. Soon the leaves will turn from green to most of
the other colors in the rainbow. The mornings will be cooler and the
sun not quite so intense.
Take a look at what we have planned. Stop by or call and we'll
tell you what's happening. The next 90 days will be filled with new
and wondrous things to delight both riders and passengers. Let's
have some more riding time before the snows begin.

We signed nondisclosure and confidentiality agreements. We promised
to keep it secret. But that was then. Now we can tell you about the
new Sportster.
The first Sportster was delivered in 1957. It shook, vibrated
and was difficult to ride at over 3,000 rpm. This new one revs to
6,000 with almost no vibration or shaking. The 1200cc has a 4.5
gallon gas tank; the 883's tank holds 3.3 gallons. But that's just
part of the story. Now, the Sportster engine is rubber mounted, just
like the big twins; the frame is 26% stiffer; the piston and rods are
lighter; the heads came from the Buell XB. And the cylinders have
more fins to keep it all real cool.
In the past the Sportster was labeled a woman's bike. Now, we
suspect it will attract even more women as well as men. Because of
the low seat height and high-revving engine, we think it will be a
reasonable alternative for those riding import bikes as well.
There are other changes as well. We particularly like the
longer, sleeker gas tank on the 1200 Custom and the easy-pull clutch
on the 883. But we ask you to judge for yourself. The bikes are due
in any day now and we invite you to come in and take one out for a
test ride.
Let us know and we'll set up a date for you to ride. We're
thrilled that Harley-Davidson was able to take a bike with an almost
50-year history and make it truly a 21st century bike. What a great
way to begin the next 100 years.

Although many of you are aware that today''s market isn''t
necessarily doing too well with regard to the stock markets and other
financial sectors and industries, it may come to some as quite a
shock to actually begin to think about purchasing a new (or used)
vehicle or motorcycle. Another interesting bit of information that
you may or may not be aware of is the fact that Harley-Davidson, the
leader in motorcycles, also provides new and repeat customers with
their HDFS, or Harley-Davidson Financial Services.
Offering a one-stop shopping experience, Harley-Davidson also
provides buyers access to their credit and insurance services, to
allow you to do your entire bike purchasing under the same roof. As
their credo implies, "we understand the passion and loyalty that''s
behind your decision to buy a Harley-Davidson motorcycle." And
that''s exactly what we want to do for you. Their comprehensive
financing programs are geared toward ease of use and designed
specifically for the Harley rider. This group of services and
programs will not only allow you to finance your new bike, but they
will also get you the insurance and protection plans you need in
order to protect yourself and your investment.
Financing more motorcycles than any other lender, HDFS can put
you on the bike of your choice with a small down payment and credit
approval. Before you know it, you''ll be on the road cruising in
style. What''s more, all of this can be done at your local
Harley-Davidson dealer, making the transaction simple and efficient.
Some of the obvious benefits of financing a new or used
Harley-Davidson bike through a dealer are:
-Flexible terms
-Low monthly payments
-Ability to finance additional Harley-Davidson items such as
insurance, parts, accessories, etc.
With today''s interest rates as low as they are, it only makes
sense to finance the bike of your dreams that you''ve been planning
on buying for so long. With just a few simple steps and the Internet,
it''s even possible to log onto the Harley-Davidson website to
download their "Loan Application."
There are other benefits to strictly buying a new or used
Harley-Davidson through the dealer, as with buying any vehicle. The
main benefit is security. Knowing who and where you buy your bike
from and where to go in case things go wrong. Warranties are an
essential part of the ownership experience and only through dealers
will you get that. Knowing your new bike has a warranty will give you
peace of mind.
Many people don''t realize that when the times are right and the
rates are low, financing actually can make more sense than buying
outright. Although each person''s situation is different, financing
your dream bike has never been as easy or as economically feasible.
And with the simple and straightforward HDFS that are there for you,
the decision is really just a matter of getting to your local
Harley-Davidson dealer. To find out more, just log onto
www.harley-davidson.com.
